This workshop will introduce the CTE teacher training program. This project, funded by the Governor's Career Technical Education initiative (SB70) will design and implement a professional development program to support new teachers transitioning from industry to the teaching profession. In an educational climate that documents qualified teachers leaving the classroom in droves, this project is designed to increase teacher retention, improve instruction and teacher effectiveness through a system of on-going support. Opportunities to participate in the first pilot of the project will also be presented.
